Release Notes

NeoDicta 0.6.1

The first launch after an update downloads the new speech model once (about 600 MB). This release makes that wait visible instead of silent.

Menu bar icon shows a download arrow while the model is downloading and an ellipsis while it loads, then returns to the microphone when NeoDicta is ready.

Menu shows a progress bar with the amount downloaded.

Dictation shortcut pressed during the download now shows the progress in the overlay instead of doing nothing.

NeoDicta 0.6.0

New speech model: Parakeet Ultra. Noticeably more accurate than the previous model, same speed, same 25 languages. It is downloaded once on first launch (about 610 MB); the previous model is removed automatically.

Dictation Language now steers the recognizer. Pick your language in Settings → General. For French, this also keeps English words from slipping into your dictation.

The language list now matches exactly the 25 languages the model supports.
